Jordanian Public Security is composed of 6 departments: (Capital Security, North, the Center, south, Aqaba, and Royal Desert Forces). It was part of the military force which was founded by King Abdullah Bin Al Hussein, the first, in 1921. The security force director used to be called the "security consultant and discipline". This force was composed of the Gendarmerie, Gendarmerie Battalion reservists, regular battalion, and the Nomadic Force. In 1930, a number of Bedouin men were recruited to form a security force that protects the Jordanian desert and named after that; "The Desert force".
