Field Marshal Habis Al-Majali was one of the pioneers of Jordan's military and political developments. He was born in 1914 to Sheikh Refefan and Sheikha Bandar bint Faris. During his career, he served in multiple high ranking positions in the military and the government.
After joining the Arab Legion in 1932, under the command of Glubb Pasha, Habis absorbed modern military techniques to his knowledge of Bedouin ways which later qualified him to lead the Arab armies as Chief of Staff of the Jordanian Armed Forces. He led an Arab Legion battalion in the 1948 Arab-Israeli war and later was appointed commander of the royal guard. He worked in the Public Security Directorate as an assistant director and also served as a military judge. Habis Al-Majali also served as a defense minister after the Six-Day War and spent 20 years as a senator.
